Tar Babies – No Contest - 3
I felt like I was listening to the Tonight Show Band for an hour.  It was a nice change of pace as far as timing was concerned compared to the Go Go’s, no 4:4 here.  Definitely fun to listen to.  A happy departure from Country music day at work.  How the hell do they get away with the name Tar Babies?  Not much of a black following?
Megadeth – Super Collider – 3.5
Dave Mustaine has some catchy lyrics, but he’s certainly not an uplifting kind of guy.  He must be in a sober stage because he has so many references and metaphors about drug use that it almost made me want to stop drinking, almost.  I don’t think there are any future classics on here, but I did really enjoy it.  He’s also a very talented guitarist considering that he almost lost the use of his “money” hand.
Go Go’s – Talk Show – 3.5
How can anyone not like the Go Go’s?  I’m not a big fan of how Belinda Carlisle’s voice reverberates the way it does, plus she looks a lot like my ex ex-wife so that’s two strikes, but I do think that the drummer is sexy, so I’m back on board.  The music doesn’t have a lot of depth, but it’s hard to be deep if every song is 4:4 time.  Head Over Heals was the gem on this cd, especially with the breakout, wow!!  But the entire cd was fun.  I never noticed Not a disk I expected to see from Monsta, or anyone else in the group.  Love the 80’s
Hey! Hello! - Hey! Hello! - 4
It took me 10 seconds to know that I was going to like this group, then 10 more to second guess myself, then after another 20 or so I decided that I liked them.   The blend of vocals along with the no bullshit have fun message in the lyrics and the awesome 80’s Asia like keyboard and guitars licks was perfect.  It was so over the top intense, I just felt happy listening to it.  I loved their website too.  It had 4 pages with about four words on each page, Awesome.
Toilet Boys – GH
My Mom once said that “nothing good can come from a band named Toilet Boys”.  She was wrong, this actually a fun poppy raw collection of decent stuff.  Not something I’d choose to listen to while relaxing, but maybe while I’m doing house cleaning.
