All Hail The Seeker
Bob Dylan-
Tempest - 3.5
Nothing
here that hasn’t been done. Bob Dylan is
a classic and I love listening to his new stuff a lot even when it’s not all
that interesting. I love the style and
feel of this album although if I were the musicians, I think I might shoot
myself. Playing the same thing over and
over and over has to get boring after a minute or two.
Occular Audio Experiment- The Witch's Whispering Tomes (pt1) – 2.5
Talk
about being right out of the 1960’s.
They almost didn’t need to have separate songs. It might have been easier to pull an Iron
Butterfly and just have one giant song.
It’s not like this stuff will be on any radio station other than the 2AM
college station. I’m not saying I don’t
like it, I actually really like it. I
actually could listen to this cd in the background all day and never realize it
was on until I needed an antidepressant.
I think I’ll be okay waiting for
part 2, I have a feeling I know what it will sound like.
Anti-Flag- A New Kind of Army - .5
Oh
my God, just shoot me. One or two songs
from these guys a week would be enough, but to listen to the entire cd? “That’s All” was all I could take.
Allman Brothers Band – ABB – 4
Awesome,
I actually listened through the entire cd and didn’t get sick of it once. I don’t think I ever really appreciated the
chemistry and talent that these guys had. I never expected to really enjoy a
southern rock cd but this was one of those cds that does pretty much everything
right.
Ghits – The Cult
I’ve
liked the Cult since “Love” and with very few exceptions, believe it or not “Elektric”
and “The Cult” cds I like every album. Ciao
Edie and Brother Wolf and Sister Moon are two of my favorites. Ian Astbury’s voice has changed over the
years, like more rock vocalists, but I’m glad he’s still on his game.
